Oliver Behrens Named CEO of flatexDEGIRO AG

flatexDEGIRO AG, a European online brokerage firm, has announced the appointment of Oliver Behrens as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective October 1, 2024. Behrens will also take on the role of CEO at flatexDEGIRO Bank AG, with his tenure set for three years.

Behrens, who brings a wealth of experience spanning four decades in the European financial sector, will be stepping into the role from his recent position as Chairman of the Supervisory Board at DWS Group GmbH & Co. KGaA. Behrens’s career features notable leadership roles, including his time as CEO of Morgan Stanley Europe Holding SE, Morgan Stanley Europe SE, and Morgan Stanley Bank AG in Frankfurt am Main from 2015 until June 2024. He was also a Board Member at Morgan Stanley International Limited in London.

Before his stint at Morgan Stanley, Behrens was a Member of the Board at Deka-Bank from 2005 to 2014, where he served as Deputy CEO. His extensive career includes influential roles at DWS Group, DWS, and Deutsche Asset Management, where he was the Spokesman of the Management Board of Deutsche Asset Management Investment GmbH.
